Occurring after resolution of spinal shock in a spinal cord injury above T6, hyperreflexia causes profuse DIAPHORESIS, a pounding headache, blurred vision, and dramatically elevated blood pressure. DIAPHORESIS occurs above the level of the injury, especially on the forehead, and is accompanied by flushing. Other findings include restlessness, nausea, nasal congestion, and bradycardia
