BPA

BPA

Bispherol-A. An industrial chemical that is used in polycarbonate types of hard plastic bottles, and as a protective lining in food and beverage cans. A possible link between BPA exposure and altered toddler behaviour, miscarriage, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and erectile dysfunction led to its being banned in Canada, the EU, China, 5 other countries and 11 US states; however, the FDA did not ban it, citing lack of data.
