Osborne

 [oz´born]
Estelle M. (1901–1981). American nursing educator, administrator, and consultant, and the first black nurse in the United States to earn a master's degree. She was also the first black instructor at New York University. Ms. Osborne was concerned with increasing opportunities for black nurses in professional nursing and was active in a number of professional and civil rights groups; she served as president of the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses from 1934 to 1939.
