Acclimatisation

Biology The adaptation of an organism to new environmental conditions. 
Microbiology The adjustment of bacteria in culture to changes in nutrients and temperature, which may require enzymatic changes.
Physiology A reversible, noninheritable change in the anatomy or physiology of an organism which enables it to survive in an alien environment or in altered environmental conditions.
