alprostadil

A PROSTAGLANDIN drug used by penile injection for the treatment of impotence. An erection lasting for two or three hours is commonly achieved, but sales of alprostadil may be adversely affected by the development of drugs such as VIAGRA. Brand names are Caverject, Muse, and Viridal Duo.
