biglycan
A small leucine-rich repeat (LRR) proteoglycan encoded by BGN on chromosome Xq28, which plays a role in assembly of collagen fibrils and muscle regeneration. It interacts with alpha-dystroglycan, alpha- and gamma-sarcoglycan and collagen VI, and it is critical for the assembly of the dystrophin-associated protein complex.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc.
