[sis″to-met-rog´rah-fe]the graphic recording of the pressure exerted at varying degrees of filling of the urinary bladder.
filling cystometrography cystometrography that measures both detrusor muscle function and intra-abdominal pressure.
voiding cystometrography measurement of detrusor muscle contractility along with the detection of any outlet obstruction in a patient who is capable of urinating; this test can also be used to determine the “leak pressure point” in patients with stress incontinence, by measuring the intravesical pressure at the moment of fluid leakage during straining or the valsalva maneuver.

cystometrography
The evaluation of the pressure/volume relationship of the bladder muscles and control of bladder emptying, which is used to identify a cause of bladder dysfunction.Indications
Spinal cord injury and voiding defects, post-prostatectomy incontinence, incontinence after surgery (i.e., failed surgery), overflow incontinence, urgency incontinence, sensory or motor defect of bladder in background of cerebrovascular accident (CVA), stroke, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, retention due to bladder pathology.
Contraindications
Active urinary tract infection, inability to pass catheter.
