[di-piv´ah-frin]an ester converted in the eye to epinephrine, lowering intraocular pressure by decreasing the production and increasing the outflow of aqueous humor; the hydrochloride salt is applied topically to the conjunctiva in treatment of open-angle or secondary glaucoma.
