ENAH

A gene on chromosome 1q42.12 that encodes a member of the Ena/VASP family of actin-associated proteins involved in processes dependent on cytoskeleton remodelling and cell polarity, including axon guidance and lamellipodial and filopodial dynamics in migrating cells. ENAH induces F-actin-rich outgrowths in fibroblasts, and acts synergistically with BAIAP2-alpha and downstream of NTN1 to promote filipodia formation. It is expressed in myoepithelial cells of the parotid, mammary, bronchial and sweat glands.
