Picornaviruses (pico RNA viruses) of the Enterovirus genus, that include polioviruses, Coxsackie viruses and echoviruses. Enterovirus infections are spread by faecal contamination, especially by food handlers.

Enteroviruses

Viruses which live in the gastrointestinal tract. Coxsackie viruses, viruses that cause hand-foot-mouth disease, are an enterovirus.
