(fe?to-tok'sik) [L. fetus, fetus, + Gr. toxikon, poison]Poisonous to the fetus. Materials considered potentially fetotoxic include alcohol, morphine, cocaine, salicylates, coumarin anticoagulants, sedatives, tetracyclines, thiazides, tobacco smoke, and large doses of vitamin K.
