A whitish crystalline extract from liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) roots, which is composed of calcium and potassium salts of glycyrrhizic acid; it is a demulcent, expectorant and flavouring agent for drugs, and claimed to have antibacterial and antiretroviral activity.
