GPR31
A gene on chromosome 6q27 that encodes a G protein-coupled protein which is a high-affinity receptor for 12-(S)-hydroxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid (12-S-HETE), an arachidonic acid metabolite secreted by platelets and tumour cells; HETE induces endothelial cell retraction, allowing invasive cell access to the subendothelial matrix, a critical step for extravasation or metastasis. GPR31 might be a chemoattractant receptor.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc. All rights reserved.
