2. pertaining to or located near the sciatic nerve or vein.
sciatic nerve a nerve extending from the base of the spine down the thigh, with branches throughout the lower leg and foot; it is the widest nerve of the body and one of the longest. sciatica is pain or inflammation along the course of this nerve.
