keratometry

Measurement of the curvature of the front surface of the CORNEA in various meridia. This is done to assist in the fitting of contact lenses, to determine the optical constants of the eye for the purposes of determining the required power of an intraocular lens, and to diagnose conditions such as KERATOCONUS or KERATOGLOBUS.
