pellicular

adjective Resembling or pertaining to a thin membrane. The use of the Latin root, pellicula (diminutive of pellis, hide, skin), is waning, with the near-equivalent occidiamembrana (membrane) increasingly preferred (i.e., membranaceous, rather than pellicular).
