poliodystrophy.
poliodystrophia ce´rebri a rare disease of young children, marked by neuron degeneration of the cerebral cortex and elsewhere, with progressive mental deterioration, motor disturbances, sometimes cortical deafness and blindness, and early death. Called also Alpers' disease.
