Cardiobacterium

 [kahr´de-o-bak-tēr´e-um]
a genus of gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria that are part of the normal flora of the nose and throat; C. ho´minis is a cause of endocarditis.

Cardiobacterium

A genus of nonmotile, pleomorphic, gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria found in the nasal flora and associated with endocarditis in humans. The type species is Cardiobacterium hominis.
