Medical term:

Nephropexy

nephropexy

 [nef´ro-pek″se]
surgical fixation of a floating or hypermobile kidney (nephroptosis). The care of a patient having this type of surgery is generally the same as that for any type of surgery of the kidney. One important point is that after nephropexy the patient is positioned so that the chest is lower than the hips; this position relieves strain on the sutures and helps to maintain the kidney in a normal position.
