desmoid

 [dez´moid]
1. an unencapsulated, locally invasive, and rarely metastasizing fibromatous tumor arising in the muscle sheath, usually of the abdominal wall, which closely resembles fibrosarcoma. Called also desmoid tumor.
2. fibroid (def. 1).
