A blastula of the type produced by the meroblastic discoidal cleavage of a large-yolked ovum.

discoblastula

(dĭs″kō-blăs′tū-lă)
A modified blastula found in highly telolecithal eggs, as in birds in which the blastomeres form a cellular cap (germinal disk or blastoderm) that is separated from the yolk by a space, the blastocele.
