Orthopedics Microsurgical laminotomy A technique that avoids vertebral exploration before disk surgery, reducing the risk of 'failed disk syndrome' as there is minimal excision of bone and epidural fat and minimal nerve root adhesion. See Laminectomy, Percutaneous diskectomy.
